The Saint John Water Polo Club has taken the initiative to start a Water Polo meet for High School students similar as the High School Swim meet in Saint John.
They have started in the Spring so they will not interfere with the swim teams, but will keep those swimmers fit and introduce them to a new and exciting sport.
The Saint John club coach have send a water-polo-playing-high-school-student from each school to personally deliver the request for a Water Polo team to their principal and Phys Ed teacher to show that there is interest for this sport. Saint John High School, Harbour View High School and Kennebecasis Valley High School responded positive on this and their teams are now trained by Katinka Postma, the Saint John Water Polo coach, on Monday and Wednesday afternoon after school at the SJHS pool.
This 10 week program will end with a Tournament at the Aquatic Centre in Saint John where each team will play 4 games against the other schools.
The Tournament is spread out over two days, Saturday May 24th (16:30-20:30) and Sunday May 25th (8:00-11:00).
