February 15-17, 2013 WPNS is hosting an intermediate tournament in conjunction with a referee course which will allow participants to gain the practical experience required for the course. This is a great opportunity to expand the reach in certified referees throughout the Atlantic Provinces.
The intermediate tournament is a co-ed, round robin format, planned for max 6 teams.
Referee Course
This workshop is designed for the Regional Referee who is officiating athletes in the Technical Foundations (ages 9-12) and early stages of the Competitive Foundations (ages 11-16) LTAD pathways. The goal of this workshop is to help prepare the new referee to do some essential skills required to be a Regional Referee (i.e. judgment, impartiality, critical thinking and confidence).
Program led by Martin Murray, FINA referee with Water Polo Canada. Maximum of three referees per team are eligible.
Minimum Requirements: participants must be at least 14 years old.
