			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>WPNB will be hosting their 2nd Annual Intermediate Tournament to be held the weekend of January 7<sup>th</sup>-8<sup>th</sup>, 2012 at the Dieppe Aquatic &amp; Sports Centre in Dieppe, NB.</p>
<p>The goal of this tournament is to provide an opportunity for newer and less experienced players to participate in a tournament setting organized for their level of play. It will be a 4 team co-ed tournament played in a round robin format. Each water polo club will send his new and intermediate players to this tournament and we will divide them over the 4 teams.</p>
<p>On Sunday there will also be games for youth 12U (12 years and under) and 16U.</p>
<p>Players are coming from Saint John, Tracadie, PEI, Truro, Antigonish and Halifax. Games played Saturday 10:30 – 15:00 and Sunday 9:00 -11:00 for adults, 11:00-13:00 for youth, 13:00-15:00 the finals for the adult teams.</p>

<p>Water Polo Canada is sending  FINA referee Bill Mckay, who will run a referee course on Friday November 11 for members of the different Clubs attending. This Referee course is part of Plan Atlantic Canada were WPC is helping NB, NS, PEI, NFLD with there development of Water Polo.</p>

<p>Sport NB is very excited to be bringing Sport Day to Saint John on <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">August 12th 2011</span></strong>. The day will start at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre where children will be able to participate in synchronized swimming, diving, swimming, and <strong>water polo</strong>. Then children will be taken to UNBSJ where they will participate in curling, basketball, volleyball, and athletics.</p>

<p>TRACADIE-SHEILA &#8211; Vous aimez l&#8217;eau et le  minihandball, vous êtes âgés de 8 à 12 ans et vous habitez dans la  Péninsule acadienne? Le water-polo est un sport parfait pour vous!</p>
<p>Tous les dimanches, depuis la mi-janvier, des cours de water-polo sont  offerts à la piscine du Complexe sportif S.-A.-Dionne de  Tracadie-Sheila, de 16 h à 17 h. Une dizaine de jeunes d&#8217;un peu partout  dans la Péninsule participent à ces séances, sous la supervision de  l&#8217;entraîneur Eric Kenny.<br />
Selon le pilote, Water-Polo Canada consacre ses efforts dans  l&#8217;Atlantique en investissant de l&#8217;argent dans les régions qui n&#8217;ont pas  de water-polo et pour la formation d&#8217;entraîneurs.</p>

<p>Tracadie-Sheila- Waterpolo was the event of the weekend in Tracadie-Shela.  A group of 17 swimmers from 8-12 years old took part in a Waterpolo clinic at the Rév. S.A. Dianne pool in Tracadie-Sheila.  The clinic, &#8220;I love Waterpolo&#8221;, was organized in collaboration with Waterpolo Canada, which took place on Sunday.  Réjean Basque &amp; Éric Kenny were the instructors.  Marjorie Dugay, Pascale Comeau, Kenneth Thibodeau &amp; Alain Vautier also assisted the instructors after participating them selves in a clinic for coaches the night before.</p>
<p>The training was provided by JC Besner, the Waterpolo N.B. President.</p>

<p>The Community &#8211; Sport Initiation &#8220;I Love Water Polo&#8221; coaching program is a new NCCP coach education program within the Water Polo Canada coaching community.<br />
The &#8220;I Love Water Polo&#8221; coach instructs/coaches participants aged 12 and under (12U), or recreational/community water polo for older athletes. In LTAD terms, the &#8220;I Love Water Polo&#8221;<br />
coach will be coaching participants in the FUNdamentals, Learning to Train, and Active for Life pathways.</p>
<p><span id="more-157"></span></p>
<p><strong>There are no pre-requisites needed to enroll in the Community &#8211; Sport Initiation &#8220;I Love Water Polo&#8221; coach workshop, and no prior water polo experience necessary.</strong></p>
<p>The program has been designed for all coaching ages (minimum 14 years of age) and levels of experience. The workshop includes a DVD containing a description of the &#8220;I Love Water Polo&#8221; skills, rules, basic tactics,<br />
and other tools that will help the &#8220;I Love Water Polo&#8221; coach make a difference in their community. Lesson plans, activities/drills, and details about how children learn are also included in the Coach Toolbox.</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Learning facilitator Mr. Andrew Brillant (NB) &amp; water polo expert Ms. Katinka Postma (NB) will lead this course:</span></strong><br />
<strong>Andrew Brillant</strong> is a Water Polo Canada, Master Learner Facilitator for the Community Sport-Initiation Program.</p>
<p>Andrew became involved in water polo after first experiencing the sport in 2004. Recently he has begun coaching a community sport program for those 13-16 years of age.<br />
He also continues to play with Saint John&#8217;s recreational adult club. He was recently hired by Water Polo Canada to assist in the pilot, &#8220;I Love Water Polo&#8221; program in the province of NB from January to March 2010.</p>
<p><strong>Foreign water polo expert, Katinka Postma</strong> who originates from the world class Netherlands water polo program, has been active as a player since 1981. She turned to coaching in 1989 and has not looked back.<br />
She relocated to Saint John, NB in 2003 where she is the Head Coach of the Saint John Water Polo Club. She was recently hired by Water Polo Canada to lead the pilot, &#8220;I Love Water Polo&#8221; program in the province of NB from<br />
January to March 2010, which has had a huge response from the local community pools!</p>
